Tinos and Paros are two of the more rewarding Cycladic islands to pair together, and the ferry between them makes it easy to do so. Tinos has a quieter, less commercial feel than most of its neighbours -- the island is known for its important pilgrimage church in Tinos Town and for the marble-sculpting village of Pyrgos inland, rather than beach clubs and bars. Paros is the opposite in the best possible way: a polished island with a proper harbour town, excellent beaches, and enough going on after dark to satisfy anyone who wants more than a taverna meal at nine o'clock. The crossing is short, and with multiple operators running the route you have a decent spread of price points to choose from.
Service runs April through October only -- there is no winter ferry on this route at all. In April and October, departures are limited, typically one or two a day, so you need to plan around the timetable rather than the other way round. From May things improve steadily, and by June you can count on five or more sailings daily right through to the end of August. September remains busy, with four to eight departures a day, making it one of the better months to travel if you want lower prices and fewer crowds without sacrificing flexibility.

Tips for the Tinos–Paros Ferry
- The age at which children travel free varies by operator -- do not assume the same rule applies across the board. Some lines carry under-fours free, others set the threshold at five or six. Check the ticket terms when booking rather than when you are standing at the port.
- On catamaran services the lower deck is the calmer option if there is any sea running. The Meltemi can whip up a short, confused swell between these islands in July and August, and the upper deck feels it more. That said, if conditions are settled the upper deck is worth it for the views -- the Cyclades from the water are hard to beat.
- Duty-free does not apply on any domestic Greek ferry route. Tinos to Paros is an internal sailing, so the onboard shop prices are standard retail. If you want wine, spirits or snacks at a reasonable price, buy them before you get on board.
- Most ferries arrive at Parikia on the west coast of Paros. From there, hire a car or scooter and head north to Naoussa -- the fishing harbour is small, relatively unspoiled, and the waterfront tavernas serve some of the best fresh fish you will find on the island. Back in Parikia, the Ekatontapyliani is a substantial Byzantine church built partly from the stone of earlier structures on the same site and genuinely worth an hour of your time. For beaches, Kolymbithres a few kilometres from Naoussa has a landscape of smooth, sculpted granite boulders that looks unlike anything else in the Cyclades.
